CPAP Machines Sleep Apnea: CPAP Substitute?

Do not get me wrong, there is no substitute for CPAP when it comes to treating Sleep Apnea. Fixed problem trying to do, if you suspect that you just could, is to go to a sleep expert and follow his instructions. He will probably recommend CPAP, surgery, or oral appliance therapy. This list is not necessarily a different selection of CPAP, surgery, or oral appliances, but instead additional methods that reduce the likelihood of airway collapse. Sometimes these strategies are not sufficient to eliminate the apnea. Again, ask your doctor before groped to treat sleep apnea.

So here are six tactics: t_0

1. Weight loss – unless you are extremely large and your sleep apnea is mild, often weight loss is not sufficient to completely eliminate it. However, it will certainly help. Weight reduction is assumed to increase apnea changing the shape of the airways which decreases the likelihood of airway collapse.

2. Avoid alcohol before bedtime – alcohol relaxes the muscles in the airways, which worsen snoring and sleep breathing issues. The most effective recommendation is to abstain from alcohol, however if you apply drinking make sure you have an acceptable time for your blood alcohol level to reduce to zero before going to bed.

3. Sleep On Your Facet – Your bed partner may have already pointed out to you: when you are on your appearance, your snoring improves. Sleeping on your back may increase the likelihood of airway collapse due to the effect of gravity on the lower jaw and tongue.

4. Elevate the head of the bed – If you have sleep apnea, you may have noticed that you sleep more deeply into your chair. Sleep-like appearance, it is assumed that the elevation of the head can improve sleep apnea by modifying the conformation of the airways. Thirty to 60 degrees of elevation of the head of the bed may pave the way for improvement in sleep apnea.

5. Avoid sleep deprivation – no evidence that any prolonged sleep deprivation problems breathing while asleep, and decreases the chances that he wakes up to these problems. To paraphrase, the present systematic evidence suggests that sleep deprivation of sleep apnea gets worse. So get more sleep, and sleep may improve breathing.

6.External nasal dilation (Breathe Rite strips) – Might severity scale back of snoring but is probably not effective in treating sleep apnea.

If you believe you have sleep apnea, you need to speak with a consultant of sleep. If he reminds you just wear CPAP then do it. But while waiting for your call for your CPAP machine, or if you want to improve the treatment of sleep apnea, then higher than methods could help.
